Damon braces

Damon braces are one of the newer types of brace which uses lightweight materials to provide a smoother and more comfortable fit. These braces are ‘self-ligating’ which means that they use a slide mechanism to help move the teeth back into position.

This is a low friction mechanism, consisting of small natural coloured brackets and archwires which fit over the teeth. The brackets contain a slide mechanism which exerts a minimal amount of force to move the teeth over 4 to 6 months. They do not use metal ties which makes them easy to clean and care for.

Damon braces are worn by both adults and children.

They are a lightweight type of brace, virtually invisible to the naked eye yet durable as well. Their virtually invisible appearance is one of several advantages along with the shorter treatment time.

A retainer will need to be worn afterwards to prevent the risk of a relapse.
